What to Eat to Keep Your Breath Fresh

Brushing is not always possible immediately after eating, especially when you are out and about. In those cases, the foods that you eat can help you keep your breath a bit fresher. If you were lucky enough to have avoided the worst breath demons of onions and garlic, then consider some of these foods to help remove the other odors that may still be lingering from your meal.

There Are a Lot of Foods That Can Freshen Your Breath

Parsley is more than a pretty piece of greenery on the side of your plate. It is something that when eaten, can help to remove other odors from your mouth. The same goes for eating fresh pieces of mint. Chew up the leaves slowly and let them linger in your mouth for a little bit before swallowing. Even a minute or two can help.

You can also eat celery. It cleans your teeth when you eat it, floods your mouth with extra water, and helps to freshen your breath. It is a great snack and it does wonders for keeping teeth clean. Another option is eating a little piece of ginger. It is great for you, especially if you are prone to upset stomachs, plus it helps to remove the little bits of odor causing debris that are left in your mouth after eating.

Each of these foods can give you fresh breath between when you finished eating and your next available brushing time. They cannot keep your teeth clean or fresh in lieu of brushing, but can tide your breath over for a few hours when necessary.
